Social Media Recruiting Tactics to STOP Immediately

When you have a small home based business... actually lets be even more honest here... you signed up with a Network Marketing company. I am not being condescending here, because I am talking from experience here.

You signed up to one, because you can see the vision.. you can see that it is a way to quit your soul sucking 9-5 job. You love the products and the opportunity and you just want to share it, but.... The person you signed up with says to write a list of 100 people and call everyone you know.

But it feels icky to you. You don't want to and decide you want to use social media to build your business..

Good for you! ME TOO!

However, if you are like I was in the beginning and you don't know where to start, what to post or are getting crickets on your posts (the only person liking them is your mum). I can help, firstly, here are 5 things you should stop doing immediately!

1. Stop posting SPAMMY posts!

It's called Social media, not advertising media!

While it's tempting to flood your social media channels with promotional content about your business, as in putting up posts about the latest products and posts telling people to join your team, this approach can backfire.

Instead of bombarding your audience with sales pitches, focus on providing valuable and engaging content that showcases the benefits of working with you.

2. Ignoring Direct messages

In network marketing, building relations with potential recruits or customers is crucial. If someone reaches out to you via direct message with questions or interest in something you have posted or is showing interest in your opportunity, it's essential to respond promptly and professionally. Ignoring these messages can damage your reputation and deter potential team members.

When responding, be sure to show interest in them and ask them lots of questions, rather than just hit them with loads of facts which may scare them off.

3. Not leveraging video content

Video content is a powerful tool in network marketing, as it allows you to connect with your audience on a more personal level. Neglecting to incorporate video content into your social media recruiting strategy can limit your reach and engagement with potential customers and recruits.

BUT...

Please don't create videos of you holding up a product and talking about the features and benefits of them like an "info-mercial". Instead create videos that are valuable to your ideal client.

You want to Entertain, Educate and Inspire your audience.

If you know who your ideal client is and what they struggle with, address these painpoints they may have. Tell stories and connect with your audience, so that the obvious answer for them is to chat to you, so you can help them.

4. Focusing Solely on Recruitment

While recruiting new team members is important in network marketing, it's equally essential to focus on supporting and training your existing team.

Avoid solely posting about recruitment and instead share success stories, training tips, and motivational content to inspire and empower your team.

If you showcase on your social media profiles the community you are apart of and fun things you are doing, it will create curiosity in your audience and they will want to be a part of it.

5. Neglecting Personal Branding

Your products and the company you signed up with.. ARE NOT YOUR BRAND.

In network marketing, your personal brand plays a significant role in attracting customers and new recruits. Failing to showcase your authenticity, expertise, and passion for the products or services you offer can make it challenging to build trust and credibility with potential team members.

You are your brand. The things you like, your opinion, how you show up, your voice are all part of what attracts people to you. Yes part of your brand is the colours and logo for identifying yourself online. However, this is only 2% of what your personal brand is!

I have had women ask me to audit their social media profiles to see what they are doing wrong. As they have been put in "facebook jail" again. I know it sounds funny, but it causes a lot of stress to people.

Honestly, as soon as I am asked to look, I know what to expect before I even land on their profile. Then I get there and sure enough, it is exactly what I thought it would be.

What I am talking about is that the profile I have just visited consists of posts advertising their products. Most of the time, I can't see anything about the women who has asked me to audit her profile.

Facebook was created to be a social place to connect with people. Your personal profile is not the place to set up your shop! If you want a place to do that, you need to set up a business page, but even then, it isn't just to advertise your products.

If you are wanting to advertise your products, you will need to run Facebook ads and pay for them!

People come to Facebook or instagram or Tiktok, or whatever platform they hangout on.. to be entertained, inspired or educated. So working out ways to do this from your own profile is crucial to winning on social media.

People buy from people they like, it's important you showcasing your personality on social media.

By steering clear of these common social media tactics, you can create a more authentic and engaging content strategy that resonates with your ideal client or better known as your target audience.

Remember, building genuine relationships and providing value are key to success in network marketing.
